THE HOLY ANNUNCIATION

There was a man sent from the God; his name was John. He came for a testimony to give testimony about Light, so that everyone would believe through it. He was not light, but He was sent to give testimony about the Light.

Let us recollect the book of anniversaries: «Here are the words of separation of days under the law and testimony, word of events of years, their weeks and their anniversaries…». Thus, the transition from a spiritual period to another one is designated by the Lord as testimonies, that is certain phenomena or events of nature or public character. And John was sent for the testimony on the approach of the new spiritual period as well, the other thing is that he conceived this new period as the last one, as an approach of the Judgment Day. John completed the epoch of Judaism, and the symbolical area of Judaism is the court yard of the Tabernacle of the Congregation. John «was not light», that is he did not bring the new spiritual truth, but came «to testify about the Light», that the world would soon be given the new teaching. John came to testify that the Holy Tabernacle of the Congregation would soon be open for people, where the lamp (Menorah) would be standing.

And from the ampleness of Him all of us received the grace on grace too, since the law is given through Moses; and the grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

The evangelist deems that with Coming of Jesus Christ, the gifts given by the Lord through Moses were outdated, and the main gifts from the Lord were brought to people by Jesus Christ. Now we may see, how the hostility of Jews and Christians blinded all of them and took away all of their spiritual wealth from them that a single teaching could have.

And here is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Leviticus from Jerusalem to ask him who he was? He announced, and did not renounce, and announced that He was not Christ. And they asked him: who are thee? Are Thee Elias? He said: no. Are thee a prophet? He responded: no.

Knowing that his people has been expecting Messiah for many centuries, he at once declares to them that he is not Christ (that is the Anointed, Messiah), and as before the Coming of Messiah, under the words of prophets Ilias should come, he negates his connection with Ilias too. John negates as well his prophetical purpose, meaning the declaration of the connection of the spiritual and moral state of the people and the development of future historical and spiritual events.

And they asked him: why do thee baptize, if thee are not Christ, neither Elias, nor a prophet? John said to them in response: I baptize in water; but there is among thee Someone whom thee do not know. He is the One Going after me, but Who has stood in front of me. I am not worthy of unloosening the belt of His footwear.

The use of the word to "baptize", as it was already said above, shows that all the gospels were written much later after the events described in them. But, as here we speak about penance and the external purification by water, John by these words stresses that he does not breach the Law.

I did not know Him; but I came to baptize in water so that He would appear to Israel.

Here, in the mouth of John the words are put expressing the already formed opinion that his main purpose, at will of the Lord, consisted in helping Jesus to discover his purpose. The moment of purification in Jordan was the key moment for calling Jesus and realization of his mission by him.

Jesus told him in an answer: truly, truly I am telling thee, if someone is not born from above, he will not be able to see the Lord's Kingdom.
Jesus responded: truly, truly I am telling thee, if whoever is not born from water and the Spirit, he may not enter into the Lord's Kingdom.

In this case, Jesus speaks about the ordinance of the internal purification of the man entering a new spiritual level and having received the name of Baptism in Christianity. This ordinance takes place for each stage of the Return. The path of the Return consists of four stages: Judaism, Christianity, the teaching about the Return and the Coming of the Messiah. In Judaism, this ordinance of the internal purification is called circumcision. This ordinance will necessary take place for the last two stages as well, though the forms of its accomplishment will vary. Each of them, at will of the Lord, grant people different features and, first of all, the spiritual unity and special forms of protection.

But time will come and it already has, when the true admirers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, since the Father searches such worshipers for Himself. The God is the spirit, and those worshipping Him should worship Him in spirit and truth. (4, 23-24)

What response may receive a man addressing the God and remaining an animal? None! For Christianity a man should, at least suppress his animal base, and at its best, having concentrated raise to representing of his people, as in Judaism only a priest could enter into the Holy, representing his people before the God, and the symbolical scope of Christianity is the Holy. Therefore, each Christian should remember in his or her soul that he is responsible before the Lord not only for himself, but for his people as well.
What does it mean to worship in spirit? Taking into consideration the triple human nature: the animal, the vegetative and the spiritual, we may say that the man worshipping God should raise up to the spiritual state suppressing all the rest in himself. Moreover, all of his addresses and requests should be dictated this state. The other side of the dialogue of the man with the God should be founded on the true picture about the Being, and the mankind is going to such a picture, coming closer to the God.
Let your deeds, words, thoughts and feelings be unified in the Spirit and the Truth!

My food is to create the will of the One who has Sent Me and to execute the Cause of Him.

Jesus said precisely, in a compressed form and exhaustively that the Lord gave him the "cause" and sent him for ministering, and «to create the will of the One who has Sent Me» is the only thing that brings him satisfaction.

How can thee believe, when thee receive glory from another, and do not search for glory, which is from the Single God?

This is an extremely important issue! By what priorities is human life defined? The acts of the man are defined by the base, which dominates in him at the given moment. The path to the God is the path of release from all the selfish features of the human nature, including vanity too, and the Lord helps in this. The people having mental greatness, value it above the material one, and those having the spiritual greatness, value it above the mental one, because the spiritual world leads to the God and rules the world. It is to searching of the greatness that Jesus is calling for. For some men in his soul, in the best case, justice may find room, and for others except for the belief will find room for truth as well.

Do not think that I shall blame thee before the Father; there is for thee the accuser, Moses, upon whom thee set hopes. Since if thee believed Moses, thee would believe Me too, because he wrote about Me.

The Lord, starting the Return, opened the first spiritual level to the Jews, and Moses, making His will come true, led the people, teaching them the law and educating it. Jesus, opening the following spiritual level, which is separated from the first one, says that the Jews (supporters of Judaism) will be accused in the sight of the Lord, at the Judgment Day by Moses, their teacher. Therefore, Jesus Christ will accuse the Christians in the sight of the Lord at the Judgment Day. When the following spiritual level conforming to the opening of the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle of the Congregation is open, the supporters of this teaching that we call the teaching about the Return, will represented by another envoy of the Lord.

Jesus said to them in an answer: here is the deed of the Lord, so that thee would believe in the One Whom He has sent. They said to Him on it: what sign will Thee give so that we would see it and believe thee? What do Thee do? Our fathers eat manna in the desert, as it is written: He gave them bread from the sky to eat. And Jesus said to them: truly, truly I am telling thee: it was not Moses who gave thee bread from the sky, but My Father gives thee true bread from heavens.

The Lord entrusted Moses to teach the people the commandments, laws and statements. The first thing that should be corrected in the mankind, is its deeds. The relations of the men should be fair and merciful. When Jesus Christ comes, he has to extend the sphere of the internal spiritual and moral self-control of the man by belief. The number of statements and rules is lessened for the man, and those that were thought of by people are completely thrown away, but the domain of the Divine influence is increased. The strengthening of the Divine influence on the human society is related to the fact that Christianity moves spiritually the man near to the God. This approaching strengthens the ties of the man with the Lord. The Lord, when he was leading the Jews in the desert, trained and did train the belief in them. That showed during the conquering of the Promised Land, but then it was lost. For Jesus the belief is necessary for creating new, higher solid spiritual state of the people. In process of the intellectual development of mankind the necessity of its advanced spiritual perfection, its movement to the God, increases all the time, and the truth together with the belief becomes the moving force.

Jesus, responding to them, said: My teaching is not Mine, but of the One who Has Sent Me; who wants to create the will of His, will learn about this teaching, if it is from the God, or I speak from My Own Self.

The teaching preached by Jesus, represented the opening of the following stage of the Pentateuch of Moses (Torah). The nature of this teaching and of the consequent two stages was always contained in the Pentateuch of Moses, but it remained closed for the Jews, as afterwards for the Christians too. But this Teaching given by the Lord to Moses, was solid from the beginning, and Jesus kept repeating that He only fulfills the will of the God and brings His words to people. And the main thing that is stated here by Jesus is that the Teaching will be open to the one who goes to the God, is looking for Him and «wants to create the will of His», and the man will realize the teaching.

Who believes in Me, as it is said in the Holy Scripture, the rivers of aqua vitae will flow from his belly. This is what He said about the Spirit That the believers in Him had to accept: since there was no Holy Spirit on them, because Jesus was not glorified yet.

The belief ensures help of the Lord, and the granting of the Holy Spirit reports to the man the new qualities and opportunities. It is well known that the descent of the Holy Spirit on the disciples of Jesus Christ took place in Jerusalem after his Ascension. However, the Christian church could not save the Holy Spirit. As soon as it deviated from the truth, the Spirit was lost.

Jesus spoke again to people and told them: I am the light to the world; who follows Me, will not go to the darkness, but will have the light of life.

As it was already spoken above, Christianity is presented by the Holy in the Tabernacle of the Congregation. One of the attributes of the Holy is the Holy lamp - the Menorah. Jesus brought to the world a new insight, and, as the light alights the world and the darkness goes backs, so has the truth preached by him. It uncovered the new spiritual paths.
Then Jesus said to the Jews, who believed in Him: if thee will be in the word of Mine, thee are truly My disciples, and thee shall learn the truth, and the truth will make thee free.

«If thee will be in the word of Mine» that is, if thee shall keep it and execute it, than you will be the disciples of Jesus and «learn the truth». The teaching of Jesus Christ is the opening of the following spiritual stage. The truth is called here the understanding of the new picture about the Being, new paths and purposes. This truth is more complete, than the one preached at that time by the Judaic priests and scribes, and it really made people more free, both in the direct and indirect senses. In the direct sense, it denied a huge number of rules and norms invented by people and moving the man away from the God, and in the indirect sense this teaching made the man responsible for his saving.

I have to do the deeds of the One who Sent Me, till there is the day; the night comes, when nobody can do anything. Until I am in the world, I am the light to the world.

Jesus says that it is necessary to fulfill the will of the Lord, while you live. He brought the light of the truth to the world, and while he is in the world, the day reigns. The Lord created the world in the afternoon that is in truth.

And Jesus said: I have come to this world for the Judgment Day, so that the unseeing ones saw, and the seeing ones became blind.

Jesus directly speaks about the sacrifice of his mission and that he has come to bring to the God the people who were far from him. Moreover, the people, who considered themselves close to the God, "the seeing ones", did not receive him and did not see the path that he wanted them to discover. They rejected as well the truth, which he brought to them.

I have other sheep as well, which are not from this court yard, and they should be brought to Me: and they will hear My voice, and there will one flock and one Shepherd.

Here, as opposed to the sons of Israel, we speak about the pagans, whose Christianizing played a huge role in their spiritual development.

Then the high priests and Pharisees gathered a council and said: what do we do? This man creates many miracles. If we leave Him this way, everyone will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and will seize our territory and the people. One of them, some Caiaphas, being that year the high priest, told them: thee do not know anything know, and do not think, what is better to us, that one man would die for the people, or that all the people would perish.

In connection with the growth of the popularity of Jesus the high priests were afraid of the revolt of the people. In this case the interference of Romans, and it would have been for sure, threatened with vast victims and the destruction of the state. The religious clique that cooperated with the Romans, was pretty happy with the situation, which had been ruling till that day. Caiaphas, as the high priest, offers a prophetical decision: «it is better to us, that one man would die for the people, rather than all the people would perish». It is possible to decipher this offer expressed by the mouth of the high priest this way: «So that we would not lose the power, and the people would keep the belief in our ancient religious values, and would not perish from the Romans, Jesus must die». However, the same offer could have sounded in the mouth of Jesus too, bearing in itself a completely different sense: «Despite of all the miracles, which the Lord showed through me, they, in the majority, remained deaf. Maybe, my death will wake this people!»

He said this not from himself, but, being that year the high priest, predicted that Jesus would die for the people, and not only for the people, but so that to gather the dispersed God's children as well.

Thus, Caiaphas, at will of the Lord, announced the destiny of Jesus. The high priest, representing his people before the Lord, must care of his spiritual state, but here, Caiaphas, having feeling the will of the Lord, did not realize neither the causes, nor the purpose of the death of Jesus. The dispersed were called the Jews living in other countries, and it was among them, in the first place that Christian teaching was subsequently preached.

Judaic Passover came nearer, and many of all the country came to Jerusalem before the Passover to clear themselves.

The Passover in Judaism is the first of the greatest feasts set by the Lord in the honour of rescue of the people from the spiritual and physical slavery in Egypt. Three times a year, including the Passover, all the adult men population should appear in the sight of the Lord in the Jerusalem Temple. It is in the Temple that, by penance and sacrifice, the man could be cleared of his sins and the penance and purification by the waters of Jordan, for John, was an anticipation of the opening of the curtain of the Holy and the Christian baptism for the people.
When, during the feast, "Hellenes" came to meet Jesus, and the disciples told him about it,

And Jesus told them in response: an hour came for the Human Son to become famous. Truly, truly I am telling thee: if a wheat grain, having fallen down into the ground, does not die, it will stay alone; and if it dies, it will bring a lot of fruit.

There are cases, when only death can break human indifference, and this was just the case. The new seeds sown by Jesus, at will of the Lord, gave young crops only when the death by his blood, as by rain, aspersed them.

And if someone hears My words and does not believe Me, I do not judge him, since I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

There were different people among the disciples of Jesus: some listened and left, others listened, believed, but did not execute, the third listened, believed, threw away everything and followed him. Christianity is only a stage of saving, and all the Saving is the Return. The mankind should still pass a long path. No one can judge a child, whom he will be when he becomes adult, and Jesus, often calling people: «Children of mine!» understood that better than anybody.

Let the heart of thy shall not be confused; believe in God, and believe in Me. In the house of the Father of Mine there are a lot of cloisters. And if it was not so, I would say to thee: I go to prepare a place to thee. And when I go and prepare a place to thee, I shall come again and take thee to Myself, so that thee would be, where I was too.

The words «believe in God, and believe in Me» should be understood as follows: «Believe in God, and in Me, the Human Son, believe, that I lead you to the God, since, at His will, I personify the best that is in thee. His Spirit, which He gave to thee, is in Me».

And where I go, thee know, and thee know the path. Thomas said to him: My God! We do not know where Thee go; and how can we know the path? Jesus told him: I am the path and the truth and the life; nobody comes to the Father, but through me.

Jesus says that he told to the disciples all the necessary things that so that they would realize the path. When the Lord through Moses gave the Jews the Teaching, the people, following him, raised one-step to the God. Jesus came, cleared, further opened and developed it for the people, so that it could penetrate into the human heart and raise the man on a following step. Time passed, and the Lord opens to the people all of His Concept on the Return of the man and gives an opportunity to extend the path of Belief on the path of the Truth and to stand on the new step of spiritual proximity to Him. All the further things depend on the man.

And the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, That the Father will send in the name of Mine, will teach thee everything and remind thee of everything that I told thee.

Here Jesus says directly that the Holy Spirit may be given only by the Lord that He will delegate to the disciples new properties and will help them in the cause of rescuing people. The spirit "will remind" to the disciples and will help them to receive the correct picture about everything of what Jesus spoke.

I am the true grapevine tree, and the Father of Mine is the vinedresser. He cuts off every branch from Me which does not bring fruit; and He clears every branch that brings fruit, so that it would bring more fruit. Theó are already cleared through the word, which I preached to thee. Be in me and I shall be in thee. As a branch can not bring a fruit by itself, if it is not on a grapevine tree: the same goes with thee, if thee are not in Me. I am the grapevine tree, and thee are the branches; who is in Me, and I am in him, brings a lot of fruit; since thee can not do anything without me.

We already spoke earlier that the comparison of the man with the grape branch or the grapevine tree means that the man has suppressed the animal base and is guided by the rest two ones: the vegetative and the spiritual ones. Moreover, Jesus, comparing himself with a grapevine tree, and the disciples with branches, directly speaks that the Lord, sending him for ministering, gave Him a task: to form the new spiritual level on the basis of the new picture. Jesus directly says that the base of propagation of the new teaching is the spiritual connection of his disciples with him, since «without me thee can not do anything». The Lord through Jesus, as earlier through Moses, spread and helped the people to realize the new teaching.

This is the commandment of Mine, love each other, as I loved thee. There is no love more, than if one puts His soul for thee friends. Thee are the friends of Mine if Thee execute what I command to thee. I am not calling thee slaves any more, since a slave does not know what his master is doing; but I called thee friends, because I said to thee everything, that I heard from the Father of Mine.

In the base of the Jewish society there is a law given by the Lord. It is about keeping the fairness and mercy. Now, after 1,5 thousand years, when people changed, their picture about the world changed as well, the Lord, for the future, puts a task for people to teach to love each other to such an extend that they could give up life for his friend. In this sentence, there is all the essence of Christianity, all of its spiritual novelty and its victory.
The Judaic wise men, naturally, considered this issue for many times during the thousands years of Judaism and there were different points of view, but as a result of the centuries-old controversies there was developed a recommendation and justification: «A man may love the other one, but not more than himself». It was a verdict brought by the "wise men" to their people.

I have still more to tell thee; but now thee can not contain in thyself. And when He comes, the Spirit of the truth, It will admonish thee for any truth: since It will speak not from Himself, but He will speak what he hears and he will announce the future to thee.

I have a lot to say to you, but not everything your reason will contain in itself. These words contain the truth, principal, fundamental for the relations of the mankind with the God: the Lord belongs not to the past, but to the future. The intuitive, erroneous judgment, which people have, is that the relations of the man with the God belong to the past, that the mankind has already overcome these relations. This is a dangerous delusion. The Lord addresses to the people from the future. He warns the mankind about the future dangers and shows the way how to avoid them, and it is the will of the man to receive these warnings.

I prey not about them, but about the believers in Me under the words of them, let everything be single, as Thee are the Father of Mine, and I am in Thee, and let them be in us single as well, - let the world believe that thee have sent Me.

The victory of the new spiritual teaching is the forming of the new spiritual level that is the unified spiritual state for all Christians, the main achievement of which is the higher intimacy with the Lord. At the time this level held a part of the antediluvian mankind. And the task of the man is to feel this intimacy to the Lord, to realize and to save it as a source of truth and life on all the extent of the path. Moreover, in these words the sense of the survival of mankind is expressed: to become unified with the Lord to become the co-participant of His Creation.
After the crucifixion of Jesus, «during the first day of the week Mary Magdalene comes to a coffin…» and does not find a body of Jesus there, and

… she turns back and sees Jesus standing; but she did not find out that it was Jesus. (In., 20, 14)
And when it was already morning, Jesus stood on the coast; but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus tells them: children! Do thee have any food? They answered to him: no. (In., 21, 4-5)

Let us pay attention to the fact that after the resurrection of Jesus neither Mary Magdalene will recognize him, who knows his human appearance to the smallest details, nor his most close disciples. To understand this riddle, let us return to the covenant of the Lord with Noah after the Deluge, when the Lord said:

I shall collect thy blood as well, in which there is thy life, I shall collect it from any beast, I shall collect the soul of the man from the hand of the man, from the hand of his brother; (Bt., 9,5)

It means that when the man perishes from an attack of the beast, his «animal soul», is lost as well which the Lord «enlivens» and takes to Himself together with the human soul. In case of death of a man from the hand of a man, the Lord "resurrects" and takes to Himself only the human soul, but not its animal part. That is why the Lord, having resurrected Jesus Christ as an evidence of the redemption of the antediluvian mankind, acted according to the covenant from Noah. The revived Jesus was dispossessed of the animal component that is why His appearance was different. And this testimony in the gospels is the best prove, both of the resurrection of Jesus, and His human nature.
